In Isaiah 8:3>it reads<>
And I went unto the prophetess: and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
In Isaiah 7:3>it reads<>Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub THY SON, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field.
In Isaiah 7:11-16 with emphasis on *v14>it reads<>Therefore the Lord HIMSELF shall give you(king Ahaz) A SIGN; Behold, A VIRGIN shall Conceive, and bear a son, and SHALL call his name Immanuel(=God with us).
It is said and believed that Isaiah went in unto the Prophetess and she conceived.
My Question:
If Isaiah, according to Isa 7:3, has a son already, which means his wife is no longer a virgin, How can it be that this is Isaiah's son, as taught today?

The reason behind this question ties in to Matt 1:23 contrast to Isa 7:14!!

This passage doesn't say that Isaiah went into a prophetess.
bibletalk reply>>Above, I qoute from Isa 8:3 And I went unto the prophetess: and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
preacher wrote: He was told to ask for a sign from the Lord, but he was afraid to ask for fear of testing the Lord so the Lord gave him a sign that a virgin would be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel..
bibletalk reply: It was King Ahaz that refuse to ask a sign not Isaiah.
What do you get when you read Isa 7 from the beginning to the end?
Note: I asked about Isa 8:3, because when I asked about Isa 7:1-25, *14, with emphasis on verse 14, I was told that Isa 7:14 referred to Jesus and Isa 8:3 referred to Isaiah's son....I don't believe this, but this is what I was told when I tried to make sense of why Isa 7:14 was qouted in Matt 1:23...."they shall call his name Emmanuel"
I truly believe that you are stiffnecked and only here to stir up arguments. You believe what you want to believe and let me believe as I believe. In the end, we'll know who is right, so it doesn't matter about your comments. What matters is the truth. What are you going to do when you find out you were wrong?
It is possible that :
1. Isaiah had a wife and had a son Shearjashub.
2. Isaiah did go to a prohetess (not his wife) and had another son Mahershalhasbaz.
3. God promised that a virgin (not Mrs Isaiah and not Prophetess) shall bear a son Immanuel (not Shearjashub and not Mahershalalhasbaz).
Correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks for stopping by Andrew!
Have you read Isa chapt 7 & 8?
hi
This refering about the coming Christ which is Jesus that God gave fore-knowledge of this. Not refering to the king's son.

Thank you kkingdstyle for your comment! I read and understand what you have said. My question would be to you, where did you get this answer within the Bible? I would agree with you completely, if I could read it from the scriptures as you stated it. Follow me? We as believers have only the written word between us. God said that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. This verse said, out of the mouth of God, not man.
hi,
Jesus is the word and became flesh and dwelled amoung us.

What we have here, Apples & Oranges.....
I believe what is written, as it is written....
kkingdstyle believes something that is not written.
Point being: "Jesus is the word and became flesh and dwelled amoung us." Of course, you and I know, this is not written as you have stated and believe. This is exactly my point, when I said, We only have the written word between us. It is the difference. God sent his word via Jesus...Jesus said more than once, the words I speak are not mine, but he who sent me....
The Bible is our common ground...."Acts 2:44>And all that believed were Together, and had ALL THINGS IN COMMON> :45 And Sold their possession and goods, and parted them to ALL men, as every man had need. :46 And they Communing daily with One Accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and Singleness of Heart."
Hi,
Read John 4:1-54, read verses 19-26 Jesus is spirt as well as his Father is spirit.
kkingdstyle
At your request: I have finished John chapter 4, in it's entirety....
Only verses :23 & :24 had any thing to say about "Spirit". They said, Worship God in Spirit....and God is Spirit....
you wrote: Jesus is spirit as well as his Father is spirit.....
How did you come to this conclusion?
hi,
Did Jesus say that if you seen me you seen the Father.
kkingdstyle
Yes! Jesus did say, "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father." What's your point? When someone comes as a representative, of course, he comes in the stead of who sent him. As an ambassador...Get it?
