Joshua 24:1 (Jushua=saviour or whose help is Jehovah)
And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem(=back or shoulder) and called for the elders of Israel and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and presented themselves before God. :2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah(=station), the father of Abraham(=father of many nations), and the father of Nahor(=snorting): and they served others gods. :3 And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him through out all the land of Canaan(=low, flat land), and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac(=laughter).

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord; for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. :20 If ye forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. :21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the Lord. :22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the Lord, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
Gen 12:1
Now the Lord had said unto Abram(=higher father), Get thee out of thy country, and from the kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee. :2 And I will make thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing. :3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all familes of the earth be blessed. :4 So Abram departed,
as the Lord had spoken unto him: and Abram was Seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran(=a mountaineer).
Gen 12:5 And Abram took Sarai(=my princess) his wife, and Lot(=veil or covering) his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the Land of Canaan they came.

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem(=Shechem-back or shoulder), unto the plain of Moreh(=teacher) and the Canaanite was then in the land. :7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said; unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him. :8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, having Bethel(=house of God), on the west, and Hai(=Ai-heap of ruins) on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.

And Abram went up out of Egypt(-the Iron Furnance), he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. :2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I PRAY THEE, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. :10 And Lot lifted up his EYES, and beheld all the plain of Jordan that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom(=burning) and Gormorrah(=submersion), even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar(=smallness).

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram(the prophet, Gen 20:7) in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. :2 And Abram said, Lord God, what wil thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer(=God is his help) of Damascus(=?, the head of Syria Isa 7:8)? :3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
Gen 15:4 And behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
This shall not be thine heir, but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur(=?, Strongs #218=Light, Flame) of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. :8 And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? :12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and lo, and horror of great darkness fell upon him.

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years(400 yrs); :14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. :15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. :16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

And it came to pass, that when the sun went down, and it was dark, Behold, a smoking furnance, and a burning lamp that passed between thoses pieces(Gen 15:10). :18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates(=the good and abounding river):

And she, even, she herself said;
He is My Brother: in the integreity of my heart, and, innocency of my hands have I done this. :6 And God said unto him in a dream, yea, I know that thou didst this in the integreity of thy heart: for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. :7 Now therefore restore the man his wife: for HE IS A PROPHET and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

Gen 22:1
And it came to pass, after these things, that God did tempt(test) Abraham, and he said, Behold, here I am. :2 and he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah(=chosen by Jehovah); and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. :4 Then on the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. :5 And Abraham said unto his young men(servants), abide ye here with the ass; and I and the land will go yonder to worship, and come again to you:

Where is the lamb for a burnt offerings? :8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering, so they went both of them together. :11 (ip) Abraham, Abraham, and he said, Here am I(3rd time). :12 And he said, lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him: for NOW I KNOW THAT THOU FEAREST GOD, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. :19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to BeerSheba; and Abraham dwelt at BeerSheba.
Gen 22:20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah(=queen or counsel), she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor(=snorting); :23 And Bethuel(=dweller in God) begat Rebekah(=ensnarer): these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
Gen 24:15
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. :16 And the damsel was VERY FAIR to look upon(Gen 12:11), a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Gen 24:27
And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master's brethren.

Gen 26:1
And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar(see Gen 21:23). :2 And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of. :3 (ip) and I will be with thee. :6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar(=a lodging place). :7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, SHE IS MY SISTER; for he feared to say, SHE IS MY WIFE; lest said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold of a surety, SHE IS THY WIFE: and how saidst thou, SHE IS MY SISTER? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, lest I die for her.
